After 12 months of heart rate spikes with the Garmin Forerunner 310XT and it's soft strap I bought a Classic Heart Rate Monitor which is not as comfortable, but a lot I got mine yesterday, put it on about 2 hours ago while doig housework. When I do my 25 minute Podcast run/walk the Polar says 440 calories burned. I am thinking of wrapping bubble wrap round the monitor to protect it from wind chill. Since that battery change, I can only get, at the most, about three days out of a battery. then in training after downhill spike i stopped and moved strap on my back, but it did not work, i mean i get no HR data at all. see this here

HRM's are set with math algorithms for significantly increased HR. I put a bit of body lotion on the underside of the strap to make good skin contact. ^^^^ this!
Tried also move strap on my back, but it worked only before ride with freshly electrode gel added .. The screws are beyond small. Do a search on here and you'll find lots of "My Polar FT Something Stopped Working" threads, which usually end "Hey, I washed it properly and it works. Polar Electrode Belt I thought it was the strap, so I called Garmin and they sent me a new one.
They referred me to the instruction manual, and sure enough, it says to clean the strap after every use… and after every 5 uses, use dish soap. Never let it stay wet from sweat or water after a workout. The solution for me is ECG contact gel (the same as licking the strap except it doesn't dry as easily), but the real solution was to buy a Polar Wearlink strap Wet the area underneath the strap and make sure it's in good contact with the center of your chest. navigate here I'm gonna email Polar.

I wear a Fixx Road ID (dog tag style)which would come into contact with my chest strap. The strap can become loose during workouts. Should I wash my strap with soap? Polar Ft4 Reading 00 I'll try this out again on a longer run this weekend.
