I’m not sure if newer power supplies have corrected this issue, but with my older MacBook Air with the original power my macbook pro is in the exact same situation. It was the debris btw, I was scared to dungus reading all the bs about hardware malfunction and heating up the charger… phew, dodged a bullet there.
