Make sure the RAM is correct for the machine -- a 1.5GHZ Aluminum PowerBook should take PC2700 333MHZ RAM, and although it may work with other RAM (PC2100, etc.) the machine open window, insert PB, release. true reset-all In case you want to return to your original configuration all you have to do is reset your nvram. I went on to get a college degree in Computer Information Systems. This should display the option menu, but if your machine happens to have a PRAM/open firmware password in place, you will see a picture of a padlock. After it boots, check System Profiler, and both DIMMs should be registering now. But my powerbook don't recognize the lower memory slot. I'm happy to have doulbed my RAM after leaving the store, but still sad that I'm only running at 2/3 of what I pad for. The key still holds thanks to the other slot on the other side, but obviously it snaps off much easier.
