As I have suggested before, if the incompatibility problem persists, there are plenty of software program options that can do the job of taking screenshots for you. I hit the F Lock key and now my print screen is working again. When you press that key only, you are performing the "End" function. You can crop, resize and annotate the screenshot with lines, arrows, texts and the likes.
The method of using "Fn" + "Print Screen" key is practical but far lame when compared with professional screenshot tools. When the XWin window had focus, the Print Screen would not work. In some laptops, you have to press the Fn key, along with the printscreen key to get the job done. This function is often helpful while recording errors on Windows and other operating systems.
