I've been on forums for a while and its starting to get on my nerves. Changing system settings will not affect Pro Tools, to do that you need to access the Pro Tools playback engine. The restart IO thing is probably because you changed a setting in your playback engine though. It is unusual for this to present many problems unless a session has been created on another system.
