Anyway I was willing to try anything as this problem was becoming embarassing -- this is a new machine for my parents replacing the 'old' machine that did not have this But be carefully, after you download the driver for your video card, JUST INSTALL IT, do not change anything in the driver settings(Use the advanced 3D image settings->Take me there)  because the bug appears again.
