Go wild. Windows Xp Won T Standby Make sure any hard disk drives are powered on and properly connected to your computer, and that any disk-related hardware configuration is correct. That way, when you power the computer back up by pressing the power button, you will be returned more quickly to the desktop exactly as you left it. Once I perform this task the power scheme settings will remain until the next restart.
